"JDF MEMBERS HONOURED"  The Governor-General Sir Patrick Allen inspecting the Guard of Honour (L)
Chief of Defence Staff Major General Stewart Saunders (R) Major Harold Wilson (S-R) Major Rohan Johnson (T-R) Lieutenant (Senior Grade) Delano Coriah., Scores of friends, well wishers and family members turned out on the lawns of King’s House on Monday 19 October 2009 to witness their loved ones receive various awards at the Ceremony of Investiture and National Honours and Awards 2009. Distinguished Service to the Jamaica Defence Force Among the awardees was The Chief of Defence Staff, Major General Stewart Saunders who received the Award for Distinguished Service to the Jamaica Defence Force. The Deputy Chief of Defence Staff, Colonel Anthony Anderson also received an award for Loyal and Dedicated Service to the Jamaica Defence Force.  Mr Marvin Pinnock receiving the Medal of Gallantry for his
deceased brother Lance Corporal Oral Pinnock The nation also honoured Ex-JDF Lance Corporal Oral Pinnock who was killed by gunmen on the 26 May 2008 in St Catherine. Lance Corporal Pinnock’s brother Mr. Marvin Pinnock collected the Medal of Honour for Gallantry for his brother, to great applause and a standing ovation from attendees. The Second Battalion the Jamaica Regiment showcased their colours as they furnished the Guard of Honour while The Jamaica Regiment Band and the Corps of Drums of the Second Battalion provided the music for the parade.
