Remembering Our Fallen Brothers
Soldiers bow their heads to observe a minute of silence while
guarding the cenotaph at Heroes Park on Remembrance Day.
On Sunday 08 November 2009 the National Heroes Park came alive as member of the Jamaica Defence Force along with other uniform groups came out to acknowledge those who have fought in World Wars I and II.
Members of the diplomatic corps along with senior officers of the Jamaica Defence Force also turned out to pay their respect to the war veterans some of whom were present.

Even though the sun was in all its glory some of the veterans stood through the entire parade.
Prayer was offered by Rev. Msgr Kenneth Richards a representative of the Jamaica Council of Churches.
The gathering observed two minutes of silence which was initiated by a one-gun salute.

Mr Frank Brown a member of the Jamaica Legion.
After the formalities the acting Governor-General The Honourable R James de Roux then made his way over to the tent where the old soldiers were and have a chat with them.
The event ended with members of the diplomatic corps laying wreaths at the cenotaph.
