JDF Hockey Team Competing in Barbados

Tournament held earlier this year Having won the National Premiere League Hockey Competition on 12 August 2009 at the Mona AstroTurf in Kingston, the JDF Hockey team is now in Barbados competing in the Banks International Hockey Festival. The JDF is among several teams from across the world spanning from Europe, North and South America and the Caribbean. The festival is the biggest single annual field hockey tournament in this hemisphere. In the National Premiere League, the JDF defeated Sharps Hockey team 2-0 in a very competitive encounter. Added to the fantastic victory, the soldiers also produced the top scorer, Private Jerome Davis who took 19 goals in the League. With such an outstanding performance this season, there will be a lot to write home about by 22 August 2009 following the completion of the Barbados International Hockey Festival.
