Celebrating Jamaica/JDF at 47

The JDF, like the rest of Jamaica celebrates the Independence of our Nation. As usual, we will be integrally involved in the Independence celebrations of this year through the furnishing of the Guard of Honour for King’s House Parade and the Grand Gala celebrations.

We too would like to recognize those members of the JDF who were born in the year of our Independence (1962), persons who have given sterling service to the JDF and by extension the Nation.

Persons like Captains (Naval) George Reynolds and Sydney Innis, Lieutenant Colonel Oral Khan of Headquarters Jamaica Defence Force, Warrant Officer Class Two Richard Nicholson of Support and Services Battalion, Sergeant Elvis Josephs of the Second Battalion The Jamaica Regiment and Sergeant Anthony Thomas of 1 Engineer Regiment (JDF) have all grown with Independent Jamaica, witnessing the transformation that the country has undergone. Of their 47 years of being, they have given over half of their lives in service to this great country.
