of the soldiers that fell in the World Wars.
A moment of silence was observed on Sunday 9 Nov 08 at the National Heroes Park to remember those soldiers who fell in World Wars I and II. A one-gun salute signaled the beginning and ending of the two-minute period of silence. The day marked the 90th Anniversary of World War I.

The cenotaph, where several wreaths were laid, sang the praises of the men of Jamaica whose “Name Liveth For Evermore”.
Remembrance Day signifies the ending of the Poppy Appeal (the sale of the poppy flower to fund war veterans) and the last official day in which the Poppy is worn.
