The atmosphere was filled with small chatters here and there by the small audience who came out to view this auspicious welcome. A Guard of Honour furnished the First Battalion The Jamaica Regiment was formed up along the roadway and at the approach of The Prince of Wales presented him with a Royal Salute.

His Royal Highness escorted by the Chief of Defence Staff and the Commanding Officer of the First Battalion The Jamaica Regiment Lieutenant Colonel Sean Prendergast, proceeded to inspect the troops on Parade. The Prince of Wales paused during the inspection to interact with a few soldiers on the parade.

Amongst the audience were groups of school children, from Holy Family Primary and Infant, First Missionary Basic, Regent Street Basic and Charles Chin Loy’s Basic schools. The children waved relentlessly the Jamaican flag and cheered as The Prince walked passed. He could not resist the urge to stop and talk with some of the children.

During their visit The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall will be visiting historic locations across Jamaica. These places include the Bob Marley Museum, Rose Town, Up Park Camp and Falmouth.
