Master Chief Petty Officer Class One M Coldspring

MCPOMaster Chief Petty Officer Class 1 (MCPO1) M Coldspring is the Regulating Master Chief Petty Officer (Reg. Chief) of the Jamaica Defence Force Coast Guard (JDF CG).  Born in Islington, St Mary, he enlisted in the Jamaica Defence Force in June 1981

He served in the 2nd Battalion The Jamaica Regiment (2JR) for a short period and was then posted to the JDF Coast Guard, where he began his career as a Seaman. He held several appointments in the JDF Coast Guard - Coxswain onboard HMJ ships, NCO OI/C outstation, Watchkeeping onboard HMJ ships, Coxswain for inshore patrol vessels etc.

MCPO1 M Coldspring has completed a number of local and overseas courses to include Riverine Warfare, Riverine and Coastal Operation, Electrical Technology, Narcotics and Dangerous Drug Law Enforcement, Supervisory Management (certificate), Drug Law Enforcement Narcotics Investigator Course, International Law of Armed Conflict, Navigational Watchkeeping Quartermaster, International Maritime Officer Course.
Master Chief Petty Officer  Class one Maxwell Coldspring was born in Roadside District, Islington ,St Mary.

In June 1981, he enlisted in the Jamaica Defence Force. After completing training at the Jamaica Defence Force Training Depot in Newcastle, he spent three months with the Second Battalion Jamaica Regiment He was then posted to the JDF Coast Guard, where he began his career as a Seaman.

He held several appointments in the JDF Coast Guard - Coxswain on HMJ ships, NCOic outstation, Watchkeeping on HMJ ships, Coxswain for inshore patrol vessels etc.

Master Chief Petty Officer Maxwell Coldspring is the recipient of the General Service Medal, which he obtained for duties performed in Grenada (Operation Urgent Fury), He is also the recipient of the Long Service and Good Conduct Medal.

In 2002 – 2004, he was attached to HQ JDF as the first Senior Non-Commission Officer in charge of the Operations Room. Presently he is the Regulating Master Chief Petty Officer of the JDF CG.

His hobbies are playing volleyball, draft, and domino watching cricket, football and basketball.  
He is married and the father of three children.
